Tonga Establishes New Communications Regulatory Authority – CCT

In July 2026, the Kingdom of Tonga officially established the Communications Commission of Tonga (CCT), replacing MIC as the independent regulatory authority responsible for telecommunications, broadcasting, and radio spectrum management. The regulatory functions previously carried out by MIC have been formally transferred to CCT.     Going forward, CCT will oversee and regulate Tonga's communications sector, including telecommunications, broadcasting, and radio spectrum management.
