On 30 July 2025, NCCS (National Centre for Communication Security) of India issued a notification regarding the security certification process for Highly Specialized Equipment (HSE), stating that such equipment must adhere to TEC’s guidelines. HSE refers to Telecom/related ICT equipment with specialized power, cooling, storage, or handling requirements as prescribed by TEC.

Starting from August 14, 2025, according to Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) Ordinance No. 1519, South Korea's revised Automobile Management Act requires manufacturers to establish a cybersecurity management system and obtain certification from MOLIT. The updated regulations apply to most vehicles, excluding motorcycles, certain trailers, and emergency vehicles.

In July 2025, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in Oman announced that the nationwide shutdown of 3G networks had been completed. Due to technical reasons, a few 3G base stations around Muscat International Airport are temporarily exempt from the shutdown. The move aims to enhance telecommunications services, reallocate spectrum for more advanced technologies, and improve energy efficiency.

On August 8, 2025, the China Quality Certification Center (CQC) released the Implementation Rule for Compulsory Product Certification – Power Banks, Lithium-ion Batteries, and Battery Packs (Trial Implementation) (CQC-C0902-2025).

On June 24, 2025, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) released 'Class Assignment No. 2 of 2025', while also revoking 'Class Assignment No. 1 of 2025', which was issued on January 20, 2025. Compared with the previous version, the updated document introduces provisions for the International Mobile Telecommunications Private Network Wireless Access Device.

On July 30, 2025, the National Centre for Communication Security (NCCS) of India simplified the security certification process for End-of-Sale (EoS) and End-of-Life (EoL) telecom devices. Manufacturers are no longer required to submit internal test reports for ITSAR compliance. Instead, they can apply for a provisional security certificate by declaring EoS/EoL dates and submitting a Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC). The certificate will remain valid for five years or until the EoL date, whichever comes first.

On July 11, 2025, the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) issued a draft Technical Code “Internet of Things – Functional Safety Requirements”, which establishes the requirements of functional safety for IoT systems. All interested parties are invited to submit their comments and suggestions to MTSFB by August 10, 2025.

Following up on the MRT IA news dated July 25, 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India has recently published the Minutes of Meeting (MoM) regarding the three-year transition plan for products BIS certified under IS 13252 and IS 616, moving to the updated IS/IEC 62368-2023 standard. This transition will affect 42 product categories, including AR/VR devices.

On July 11, 2025, the Agence Nationale de Réglementation des Télécommunications (ANRT) of Morocco issued a press release announcing the launch of a call for competition for granting licenses to establish and operate telecommunications networks using 5th generation mobile technologies.

On July 23, 2025, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (KOMDIGI) of Indonesia announced a public consultation on the updated technical standards for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) devices.
